History and Culture
Marseillan is one of the oldest villages in France. The area was originally settled by the Phonecians more than 2500 years ago and was an active Roman commercial centre. Nearby Montpellier has shopping, a major university, restaurants, theatres and book shops. Nimes, the Pont du Gard, Aigues Mortes and many other attractions are a short drive away.
